The Australian Cricket Board has issued invitations to the following players to take part in the one-day international series against
England and Pakistan.

Australia's involvement in the one-day international series starts against Pakistan on 9 June at Cardiff. It then plays England at
Bristol (10 June), England at Old Trafford (14 June – day-night), Pakistan at Chester-Le-Street (16 June), Pakistan at Trent Bridge
(19 June – day-night) and England at The Oval (21 June) with the final set to take place at Lord's on 23 June.

The squad selected by the ACB for the five Ashes Test matches consists of the following players:

Commenting on the squads chosen, Chairman of Selectors Trevor Hohns said: "We know this tour will be a tough assignment as England is playing with confidence on the back of four successive Test series wins, and Pakistan is capable of playing brilliant cricket at any time."

Jason Gillespie, who suffered a stress reaction in his left foot on the recent tour of India, is included in both the one-day international and Test match squads, with his fitness to be assessed ahead of the departure of the one-day squad on 26 May.

Similarly, Brett Lee, who is recovering from surgery on his right elbow, will also have his fitness assessed ahead of the Test squad flying out in mid-June.

Trevor Hohns said of Brett's inclusion in the Test squad: "Brett is in the early stages of his comeback from injury and we are keen not to rush him back too quickly."

Western Australian batsman Simon Katich is also included in the Test squad, and Hohns commented: "We see Simon as one of our outstanding younger players and we are confident he can fill a role anywhere in the order."

And New South Wales pace bowler Nathan Bracken, who has been a key member of the one-day squad in Australia and India, has secured a place on the Test and one-day tours, with Hohns adding: "Nathan has come on in leaps and bounds since he came into the one-day side for the Carlton Series last summer and he was also really impressive in the one-day series in India.

"Before he went to India he was in outstanding form in the Pura Cup for New South Wales and he fully deserves his chance in both forms of the game. And being a left-arm bowler means he offers us a little bit of variety in the pace bowling department," said Hohns.

The selectors are aware of the potential workload on Adam Gilchrist as the sole wicketkeeper named in both squads and they will continue to consider the situation over the coming weeks.
