Douglas Jardine's Barmy Army T-Shirt
Douglas
Jardine landed on my desk this morning! Seriously folks;
Jardine who was one of England's greatest and controversial
characters adorns All Out Cricket's t-shirt in a bid
to resurrect the fight from yesteryear. Famous for his
captaincy in the 1932-3 Bodyline series in Australia,
Jardine's silhouette covers the front of the t-shirt.
Dark Blue in colour, this
heavy 100% cotton t-shirt oozes quality. More often
than not these days tees are not made to last, flimsy
materials are used to keep production costs down –
not so in this case. The quality and build reminds me
of the tees you find in America.
In conjunction with the
Barmy Army, All Out Cricket certainly have a hit on
their hands with this one! Below Jardine's silhouette
on the from of the t-shirt we find “Douglas Jardine's
Barmy Army Australia 1932-33” written in a white
font. On
the back of the t-shirt, together with a map of Australia
All Out Cricket have included the dates from the Bodyline
series and of course the five Test results – England
won 4-1 !!
Unfortunately for the
Barmy Army they will not be able to emulate their predecessors
this time round and the best they can hope for is 3-2!
