George
Alexander was a hard hitting, right - handed batsman
for Victoria and Australia. He was a Fast - Medium first
change bowler and a strong fielder. Alexander was the
Australian tour manager in 1880 and 1884, and Manager
of Ivo Bligh's team in 1882/1883. George Alexander was
one of the first 22 players to play Test cricket in
England, held at the Oval in 1880. He scored a steadfast
33 and his innings helped his side avoid an innings
defeat.
