Jo
Angel, a monster bowler standing 6ft 6 inches tall,
right arm fast. Playing for Western Australia, he took
66% of his wickets at the WACA in his first two seasons
of Sheffield Shield Cricket. He made his debut against
the West Indies in the final Test of the 1992/93 series
and immediately made his mark, first by having Desmond
Haynes dropped off his 5th ball and then hitting him
in his face four balls later. Glenn McGrath was always
favoured over Angel for the next season. Even so, he
was awarded his maiden tour of his International career
travelling to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 1994. Although
he bowled right-handed, he was a left-handed batsman,
batting down the order. His only Test against England
came in 1994.
