Kenneth Archer was
the older brother of Ronald Archer (who also played
for the State and Australia), he was a graceful batsman,
his favourite shot being the deflective shot off his
legs. He opened the batting for Queensland between 1946
and 1957, and was a prominent fielder for both sides,
although he never took a first class or test Match catch.
He toured South Africa in 1949 without playing a Test
match - he scored 826 runs on the same tour. Archer
played against England at home in the 1950/51 season
and a year later played against the West Indies.
