Born 1953 Perth -

Played for : Western Australia and Australia

Wayne Clark, a strong fast medium right-arm swing bowler got his chance in Test cricket due to the defections to Kerry Packer World Series Cricket. Bobby Simpson was captain at the time and relied on the Western Australian in troubled times in Australian cricket.

Unfortunately, after taking 44 wickets at 28.75 a piece, his action was called into question when bowling a bouncer and was replaced by Rodney Hogg. Clark's final tour was in the West Indies in 1978. He struggled throughout the tour with a back injury, but even so took 31 wickets (23.00) without complaining. The injury caused him to miss the final Test of the tour. Clark played his final Test match against Pakistan in March 1979.
