After
this match, the last of the rubber originally scheduled,
some Australian ladies burned a bail, sealed the ashes
in an urn and presented it to the victorious captain
of the English team. The urn, together with its embroidered
velvet bag, is housed in the Memorial Gallery at Lord's. |
