Katich, Hodge and Ponting all fell within 30 runs and Worcester looked on top for the first time in the game. However thanks to a superb 94 from reserve wicket keeper Brad Haddin, Australia regained control of a dying match. Haddin's knock came from only 96 balls and included 16 4's and a massive 6.

A valuable unbeaten knock of 53 from Jason Gillespie including a 123 stand and 22 from fast bowler Shaun Tait contributed to Australia's closing total of 9 for 406 on the second day.
