Day 5 Report

The last wicket fell to Voce in the second over of the day, and with no score added by the final pair on the final day, England required 1 run for victory. Only one spectator sat on the famous 'hill', and with McCabe called on to bowl, the winning run was struck off his first delivery, Sutcliffe boosting his series aggregate!!

England won the first rubber by a convincing 10 wickets. First blood to the Poms, the two teams now move on to Melbourne (Victoria) to do battle for the Second Test Match - the wicket will be different to the Sydney ground.
