Day 5 Report

McCabe and Darling added 44 runs after surviving the fresh bowling attack on the fifth day. McCabe was the first to fall when he tried to hook a ball off Verity and got into trouble when the ball kept low, following through onto his wickets. The last 5 wickets fell for only 12 runs and almost handed the game and the series to England. However, chasing a little over 160 runs to win, Sutcliffe fell with only 5 runs on the board and England started the run chase nervously. Jardine and Leyland then steadied the ship until the captain was the next wicket to fall, out Leg before off Ironmonger for 24 while playing a pivotal role to Leyland's more aggressive role.
